Biscuit Jointer
The biscuit jointer is a quick and easy power tool to use. It cuts two symmetrical slots on two or more bits of timber for a biscuit (small thin piece of timber) to be held in with glue. The glued joint is very strong and the procedure is fast and accurate. This joint can be used to line up parts in a large glue-up such as table top and to assemble case pieces like frames, draws and door and window casing. |
Hand held Router
A router is commonly used to rout out or hollow out an area in the face of a piece of timber. This power tool consists of a motor that turns a spindle at very high speeds. A router bit is attached to the spindle, that then removes timber very quickly. There are many different types of router bits which are used to perform different applications like profile edges, cut grooves, trim wood, recess hinges or even cut joints. |
